Methodological Approaches
IJOER welcomes diverse methodological approaches that demonstrate rigor and appropriateness for literary and cultural research questions. We encourage both traditional and innovative methodologies, as well as mixed-methods approaches that provide comprehensive insights into complex literary and cultural phenomena.
Textual Analysis & Close Reading employing philological methods, narratology, stylistic analysis, and hermeneutic approaches are particularly welcome. Studies should demonstrate methodological transparency, appropriate analytical techniques, and robust interpretation of literary texts.
Qualitative Research including archival research, historical analysis, comparative studies, ethnographic approaches, and cultural critique provide valuable contextual understanding. Such research should demonstrate systematic data collection, rigorous analysis, and theoretical contribution.
Theoretical Contributions that develop new conceptual frameworks, critique existing theories, or propose innovative analytical models in literary and cultural studies are encouraged. Theoretical papers should demonstrate clear contribution to knowledge and relevance to contemporary debates.
Digital Humanities Approaches utilizing computational methods, text mining, distant reading, and digital archives are increasingly welcome, provided they maintain critical engagement with literary and cultural questions.
